What you will need to make chevron wall art.
- Chevron stencil (we used this printable one)
- Blank white canvas
- Paint wipe
- Paint (we utilized acrylic)
- Painters tape
Step 1: Cut out stencil and follow
Hold your stencil down onto the canvas and follow out the example. You may need to cover the stencil on the closure of the canvas to proceed with the example.
Step 2: Line pencil tracings with painters tape
When your stencil has been illustrated, tape over the pencil with painters tape. This will counteract your shaded paint from leaking into the stenciled region. This part takes a while since you need to cover every bit of tape to consummately fit the points of the chevron design. Make sure to cover up the tape so there are no crevices where the paint could leak in.
Step 3: Paint
Pour your paint into a shallow vessel. Utilizing an edged paintbrush, brush the part of the canvas not secured by the paint. To make the lines look as smooth as possible, we used a paint sponge over the strokes to even them out. Rehash this until all white space is secured in paint. Don’t stress if you think it is not perfect, you can touch up once you evacuate the tape.
Step 4: Touch up and let dry
Evacuate the painters tape from the stencil. Utilizing your smaller brush, touch up any spots on the paint and head over the pencil following if its still visible. Let the canvas dry for no less than 2 prior hours before hanging.
