Are you having a hard time pairing your outfit with ready-made hair pin? Or do the hair pins you have not match the color of your dress or your kid’s uniform? Let me teach you how to make a simple but classy fabric flower pins.
Things to use :
– New or used plain cloth
– Circle template
– Centrepiece (Beads and pearls )
– Glue gun and glue stick or Super glue, instant glue (any kind of glue)
Step 1 : Trace eight big circles on the cloth using your circle template and pencil. Carefully cut them with scissors.
Step 2 : Pick one piece and fold it in half.
Step 3 : Make a running stitch at the open part near the curvy edge.
Step 4 : Pull the thread tightly and gather the edge until it looks like a petal.
( Instructions for the first flower )
Step 5 : Using the same thread, create another petal with the same instructions until you have five petals. Make sure to pull them together.
Step 6 :Pull both ends tight and tie few knots to form a flower. The petals should be close together enough to hide the hole at the center.
Step 7 :Trim the excess thread and adjust the petals by pressing and stretching it until it looks perfect.
Step 8 : For the centrepiece, stick one large pearl at the center of the flower and six smaller pearls around the center using the glue gun. Let them dry.
Step 9 : Using the tweezers and glue gun, carefully stick one bead at the center top of the each pearls. Let them dry.
( Instructions for the second flower )
Step 10 : Repeat steps from 2 to 7 but this time, you will only make three petals to make the second flower smaller than the first.
Step 11 : For the centrepiece, stick three pearls with the same size at the center of the flower. Let them dry.
Step 12 : Using the tweezers and glue gun, carefully stick one bead at the center top of the each pearls. Let them dry.
Step 13 : Still using the tweezers and glue gun, carefully stick beads around the three pearls. Let them dry.
For the final step, use the glue gun to stick the flowers into the pin.
And that’s it! I hope you liked this simple and cute idea.
